Becki Clark, art editor of In The Moment

Meet Becki Clark

Becki says: "I try and stay as creative as I can and make time to paint, draw or letter something every day. I find that when I’m doing these activities I feel most calm and also content. Painting is my way of relaxing and also exploring all the ideas and colour combinations I have collected in my head onto paper.

"I love going for long walks, taking lots of pictures of nature, the colours, shapes and different flowers before getting out my paint brush and exploring how these could work as patterns. I’m really lucky to live in such a pretty place (the New Forest) which means that I’m surrounded by lots of beautiful forests to explore.

"I also love to explore creative lettering, when I was a child right through school I used to change my handwriting every week because I always thought I could do a ‘better’ version or something more fancy and the same applies now. I learnt the basics of brush lettering and ever since have been experimenting with different styles.

"I also teach brush lettering workshops which I really enjoy as its lovely watching and helping others find their creativity with lettering. I have created editorial illustrations for Mollie Makes, In the Moment, Project Calm, Papercraft inspirations and 91 Magazine. I've designed greetings cards, stationery and wrap for some of the leading greetings card companies which have been stocked in John Lewis, Waitrose and Sainsburys.

"I also run my own wedding stationery business specialising in whimisical wedding stationery inspired by nature where I have combined my love of painting, nature and hand lettering.’’
